Design a safe and beautiful balustrade that doesn’t block the view

A quick look at some of the key steps

The client wanted a complete garden and balcony redesign of their beautiful apartment in Les Gets, so Ski Cosy Property got in touch with us to deliver something special for the balustrade.

1. The Ski Cosy Property team got to work with taking apart all the old balcony and building new patio areas
2. Before the weaving could start, all the old balustrade was removed and then new sections of balcony were created to connect to the new patio area and jacuzzi

3. Whilst the balcony was being built, I was in the workshop hand crafting the seperate balustrade wooden pieces, using tenon and mortise joints to fix together. We then used stainless steel eye hooks and bolts to create a structure for the paracord to attach to between the posts

4. Once all the wooden sections of the balustrade were in place, we could get moving with the weaving! The client went for chaos pattern and we advised using black paracord due to the fact that it was in direct sunlight (brighter coloured paracord doesn’t normally age well in direct sunlight unfortunately). The end result was a totally unique, strong and durable structure which didn’t block the stunning view from the new balcony – a real treat for all the clients visiting this winter!
